Welcome to the new season
Can we take this opportunity to belatedly wish all our players the best of luck for the new season. We hope you enjoy playing football for Dewsbury Rangers and the coaching sessions and activities we provide as a club. We’re also pleased to announce that we now run 2 Old Boys teams as a route for our older players to continue playing and they play on Saturday afternoons at 2pm at Crawshaw St, Ravensthorpe and would welcome your support
Update on Proposed Clubhouse
We’ve informed you before about the plans to construct a clubhouse on Wakefield Rd fields and we would like to update you on the plans. The club’s development committee are searching for all types of funding; some we’ve tried and unfortunately already been turned down for and others that are still in the pipelines. The plans are being re-drawn for official planning permission purposes and we continue to work towards this dream with officials from KMC, however these things always tend to take a long time so please be patient. The 3rd generation all weather pitch that we have worked closely and are in partnership with St John Fishers High School should start to be constructed before the end of this year and so for winter training for 2008/09 we will be using this fantastic facility.
Fundraising dates for your diary
Steve Wilson has recently been nominated and voted as Chairman of the fundraising committee and we wish him well. We are holding an adults social evening involving a Winter Disco on the evening of the 10th of November at Hanging Heaton WMC. Tickets to include a buffet will cost £4 each and will be distributed by your coaches nearer the time. We have to limit the numbers attending so entry and food will be by production of a valid ticket only. Please also find enclosed in this envelope £5 worth of raffle tickets for our Christmas Raffle. We have a first prize of £100 cash, 2nd & 3rd prizes of £75 and £50 in high street vouchers plus others prizes and would ask each child to try to sell their tickets and return the stubs and payment in this envelope to your coach before the 23rd of November, the draw will take place on the 2nd of December and the results published on our website ASAP www.dewsburyrangersjfc.co.uk. Our fundraising committee meet once a month and would welcome your help – please ask your coach or team manager for more details or contact us by e-mail at football@dewsburyrangersjfc.co.uk. Any ideas? – Have you any ideas or suggestions that you believe would help the club in the future, whether fundraising, general club or playing matters? If so, please contact us by e-mail at football@dewsburyrangersjfc.co.uk
No Smoking Policy
Being a junior football club which encourages children to take part in healthy sporting activities it is the clubs intention to promote a no smoking policy. More and more of our activities take place on Kirklees or local school fields and they operate a no smoking policy. Please respect this and avoid smoking in any area where children are gathered or at all in no smoking facilities. You may have also noticed extra lines some 3m behind the touchlines, please stand behind these lines when watching matches to give the players and officials more room and to also help reduce wear on the pitches
