Club Newsletter – February 2007

 News on Exciting Club Projects

As you are aware the club has close links with St John Fishers High School and our joint bid to the Football Foundation for a third generation all weather synthetic pitch has now been submitted. The club has committed to contribute a substantial sum towards this project for the benefit of all our players who, if the bid is successful, will have state of the art facilities for winter training for years to come. As you may know it is also the club’s intention to have its own clubhouse with the proposed site being on Wakefield Road playing fields (aka Chickenley Heath amongst other names). We have been asked if we can find any volunteers within the club, be it parents/carers/relatives, who would be willing to help the club in building the clubhouse. This would be someone with a trade such as bricklayer, joiner, plumber, and electrician. This isn’t to say that there won’t be funding available to pay for such labour, however, if we have those resources within the club, then it would be of great help. Would you please complete the tear off slip below to confirm you’ve read this newsletter and to advise us as to how you may be able to help your club in the future.

2007 – 2008 Season Registrations & Subscriptions

As you know the club have not increased the annual registration fee for the past two years, and apart from the payment method, the subscription fees have also not increased over that period. With the developments planned for the future of the club the Executive Committee have decided that from the start of next season the registration fee will increase to £25 per player but the subscriptions will remain the same at either £90 for the full season or £12.50 per month from September 2007 to April 2008. We hope that you’ve found the new payment scheme to your benefit and that you will appreciate the need for the price increase. Clearly if we are to succeed with our ambitious plans for a clubhouse we will need the support of all our members and parents with fundraising activities.

Dates for your diary

The annual presentation night has been booked for the Frontier on Monday the 21st of May. Our annual football gala will take place on Sunday the 8th of July at Earlsheaton High School and the annual penalty shoot out will take place on the 27th of April. Saturday 24th March will be a race night at Hanging Heaton working mens club, starting 7.30pm. As with all our fundraising efforts we are always reliant on our parents to help out. Our fundraising committee meet once a month and would welcome your help – please ask your coach or team manager for more details. Please remember this club is self funding and can only survive with your help.

No Smoking Policy

Being a junior football club who encourages children to take part in healthy sporting activities it is the clubs intention to promote a no smoking policy. More and more of our activities take place on Kirklees or local school fields and they operate a no smoking policy. Please respect this and avoid smoking in any area where children are gathered or at all in no smoking facilities.
