St John Fishers & Dewsbury Rangers JFC proposed Development

Many thanks to everyone who supported these proposals, the planning permission has now been obtained and we are currently exploring all possible avenues for raising the funds needed for the project.

Season 2005/06 Registration Fees and Subscriptions

Due to the success of the pay monthly/annually scheme the management committee have decided to freeze both the subscriptions and annual registration fees for next season. Please hep us and ensure that you continue to pay by these methods for next season.

Dewsbury Rangers Website

Dewsbury Rangers have had a website for some time now at www.dewsburyrangersjfc.co.uk and it is currently in the process of being updated. If you have any information that you feel would be useful to add to the site please e-mail us the details via the website at football@dewsburyrangersjfc.co.uk. Please note that for child protection reasons we cannot add photographs of children which include either their names or contact details.

Annual Presentation Night, Summer Gala and A.G.M

The presentation night will take place this year on Monday the 15th of May at the Frontier Club, doors open at 8pm. The summer gala will take place at Earlsheaton High School on Sunday the 16th of July, and the clubs AGM will take place on Sunday the 4th of June at 8pm at Hanging Heaton Cricket Club.

Fundraising Events and Your Help Please

A spring dance is being held on Saturday the 8th of April at Hanging Heaton Golf Club, tickets at £3 per person will be available soon. The annual penalty shoot-out competition is planned for Friday the 5th of May, and the entrant who is closest to the final number of successful penalties scored will receive £50 and the child obtaining the most sponsors will receive £50 worth of JJB vouchers. We also need your help at fundraising during the year and especially at our gala. We need a volunteer from each age group to be represented at the fundraising meetings to pass on information to all within the age group. Please give your details to our fundraising co-ordinator, Sharon Lightowler on her contact number of 01924 450876. The meetings are held monthly at Hanging Heaton Cricket Club. For the Gala – we have a Jar Stall and this is a very successful stall, could all players please save/collect a minimum of 2 jars each and fill them with a small toy/s and wrapped sweets etc and pass them to the fundraising representative within their age group. Alternatively these can be brought directly to the stall on the day of the gala. Finally It is expected that if your child is playing in the morning or afternoon session of the gala that you make yourself available to help for at least 30 minutes during the day when they are not actively in the games. The more helpers we have the easier it is for everyone and the more successful the day.

Under 7’s Season 2006/07

Next season’s under 7’s will only be able to take place if we receive the help from at least one or two parents who would be willing to take the team. If you would like to be considered please let your current team coach know or contact us via the website as above. You would have to complete an FA CRB check and obtain a WRCFA ID card before you could take the children and then take a level 1 coaching course within the first 6 months. Dewsbury Rangers JFC will fund this so apart from some time it will cost you nothing, however you will get a great deal of enjoyment and fun from passing on your skills to this age group.

Girls Under 13’s Season 2006/07

We already have a number of successful girls teams and are looking for additional players for an under 13’s girls team for next season. If you are interested please contact Graham Wilkinson on 01924 437609

Child Protection Officer

Our current Child Protection Officer, Stuart Ramsden has decided for personal reasons to resign at the end of this season, therefore the club will be looking to appoint a new Child Protection Officer at our AGM. If you are interested please let your coach know or contact us via the website ASAP.

Legal Action

“The issues raised in our news letter in April 2005 involving litigation between a family and the club have been resolved through the process of mediation. This now brings to a close the differences between the parties. Apologies have been offered and accepted.”
