St John Fishers & Dewsbury Rangers JFC proposed Development
Many of you will have seen the developments for this project highlighted in the local press, and thanks to everyone who found the time to add their names to the petitions that were organised. Originally the plans were rejected and they have been amended and resubmitted to the council, with a decision likely at the beginning of December. We really need to ask for your help between now and then. We would like as many parents, guardians and supporters to write to the local councillors involved in rejecting the plan to ask for their written reasons for rejecting the previous application. Also now that the plans have been modified to take into account the objections, will they give the proposal their full support. A second letter should also be sent to the supporting councillors to remind them that they should attend the planning meeting as every vote will be crucial. We need to keep this at the forefront of all the councillors minds, as if it fails this time then the project will be scrapped and many hundreds, if not thousands of local youngsters will miss out on state of the art facilities. There are no other facilities of this type in this area either now or planned for the future – why should our children miss out on this?
We have attached two versions of the letters for you to use as guides and a page detailing the councillors contact information. Please support this as much as you possibly can in the next few weeks.
Pitch Hire
To give you an idea of how big the club has now become we have just paid Kirklees Council over £1000 in pitch hire fees for season 2005/06 and this doesn’t include the pitches at EarlsHeaton High School or Bywell Junior School, or the outdoor training at several locations throughout the area.
Christmas Parties
In the near future your coaches will be asking you for suggestions for the children’s Christmas parties (if they haven’t already done so). Once again the price of £10 per registered player has been agreed by the committee to pay for these parties. Anything above this amount would have to be paid by the parents.
Changes to the way subscriptions are paid from September 2005
Many thanks to everyone for supporting the change in subscription payments. By paying monthly, you not only save money over the year, you greatly reduce the administrative burden involved in accounting for all the payments.
As always many thanks for your time and support,
The Management Committee of Dewsbury Rangers Junior Football Club.
