Budding football coach Brenda Kerr from Ossett, successfully completed her latest milestone in the journey towards professional coaching and joined the elite group of female Coaches to have completed the FA Level 2 course.
The course which started in October last year was held in Huddersfield for female coaches, run by West Riding County Football Association (WRCFA) and in association with the Football Association. Fifteen coaches took part and Brenda was awarded the FA Level 2 certificate in coaching football after successfully passing her course work and assessment evaluated by former Leeds United Ladies Coach Julie Chipchase.
Brenda who coaches Dewsbury Rangers Under 9’s and 11’s girls said “It was a massive relief when Julie told me I had passed the assessment. It has been hard work over the several months but I was with a great bunch of girls and we had lots of fun along the way.”
“In my interview Julie recommended that I take go for my UEFA B licence (level 3) and this is something that I plan to do later this year/early next. In March 2007 there were only 64 Level 3 Female Coaches in England so it would be quite an achievement to join them ..”
“I am looking forward to having a rest over the summer and then using some of the advanced techniques I have learnt before hopefully progressing to the next level”
