Dewsbury Rangers (blue) 4 v 0 Driglington

Rangers dominated possession in heavy conditions good passing and movements from Jake Bird and Alfie Watson carved out good chances. Good running and close control from Nathan Lister saw the ball break to Tom Ashby in the Driglington box who slotted the ball neatly into the net. Rangers crisp passing and movement set up chances for Ashby and Bird. The second half saw strong tackling and solid defending from Ross Firth. Harry Bennetts in defence started most of Rangers moves winning possession and passing with accuracy. Jacob Shires in the Rangers goal snuffed out the only chance Driglington created with a sprawling save.  A flowing Rangers move started and finished by the impressive Alfie Watson saw him drive the ball home for Rangers second. Lister, Bennetts and Ashby combined well to put Bird through for a well deserved third goal. MOM Watson whose strong running was rewarded with his second and Rangers fourth goal following a passing move from defence to attack to complete a comprehensive Rangers win.

Dewsbury Rangers (yellow) 1 v2 Driglington

Rangers lost to a largely unchanged Driglington side.  Ali Mohammed tackled hard in defence for Rangers. Ethan Stone and Liam Fearnley worked hard in midfield supported well by Luke Ellis with good passing and strong running. Connor O’Brian tried hard to hold the ball up front for Rangers but was often faced with two or three defenders. Umer Hamalat and Luke Ellis tried hard to work the ball forward, but Driglington pressure saw them score the first goal. Luke Micklethwaite worked hard in defence. Jake Bird pulled off save after save to ensure Rangers kept in touch with Driglington. A slick move involving Fearnley and Stone saw Ellis race through the static Driglington defence for a well made equaliser. Driglington Pressure finally paid off with a late winner. MOM Liam Fearnley.

Dewsbury Rangers (blue) 5 v 0 Hartshead

Rangers dominated from start to finish with slick passing and movement. Jake Bird opened the scoring with close control and an accurate low drive. Ranger’s alertness and one touch football paid off as Ellis and Bird combined for Jake Bird to beat two defenders and fire a low drive home. Harry Bennetts worked hard ensuring good Rangers possession.  Dewsbury laid siege on the Hartshead goal resulting in a home goal made by Nathan Lister. An assured display from Alfie Watson in midfield was rewarded by a well taken goal. MOM Nathan Lister for his energy and strong running performance. Goal keeper Jacob Shires kept Rangers on the front foot with good ball distribution.  Luke Ellis made it five to nil late on with an unstoppable free kick. 

Dewsbury Rangers (yellow) 1 v 4 Hartshead

Rangers worked hard against an unchanged Hartshead team. Liam Fearnley passed well in midfield. Luke Micklethwaite and Harry Kitcher combined well to create good chances but were kept at bay by a tight Hartshead defence. Tom Ashby worked hard up front and twice went close to opening the scoring. Hartshead broke forward and took the lead, and settled the match with further strikes late in the second half. Umar Hamalat showed some good touches and passed accurately through out the game. MOM Ethan Stone carried the game to Hartshead and was rewarded with a fine individual goal. Goal keeper Jake Bird made some fine saves in the Rangers goal.

Dewsbury Rangers (blue) 1 v 1 Vision (a) Wyke.

In a free flowing match both sides passed the ball accurately, Harry Bennetts tackled well for Rangers in defence. Luke Ellis and Nathan Lister ran hard all through the match, they combined well down the left hand side forcing vision deep into their penalty box. The ball was handled resulting in a Rangers penalty. Alfie Watson stepped up and skilfully drove the ball into the top corner for a deserved Rangers lead. Vision put on the pressure in search of an equaliser but MOM Jake Bird stood firm in the Rangers goal with three fine saves in one on one situations. Vision possession finally paid off as Bird was beaten with a glancing header for a hard fought draw.

Dewsbury Rangers (blue) 3 v 1 Cumberworth

Rangers dominated possession in windy conditions good passing and movements from Jake Bird and Alfie Watson carved out good chances. Totally against the run of play Cumberworth opened the scoring mainly due to poor marking in midfield. Rangers stepped up the pressure with Bird hitting the post from a well struck free kick. The second half saw a well worked goal with Watson driving the ball home. Ross Firth in defence started most of Rangers moves winning possession and passing with accuracy, ably supported by Luke Ellis.  MOM Tom Ashby in goal kept his concentration well and his fine distribution kept Rangers moving forward. Watson completed his brace with a fine shot from distance. Substitute Harry Bennetts scored a late goal to seal a well deserved Rangers victory.

Dewsbury Rangers (yellow) 0 v 6 Cumberworth

Rangers lost to a largely unchanged Cumberworth side.  Jacob Shires tackled hard in defence for Rangers. Nathan Lister and Liam Fearnley worked hard in midfield supported well by Ethan Stone with good passing. Connor O’Brian tried hard in goal for Rangers but was often faced with wave after wave of attacks from Cumberworth. Harry Kitcher and Tom Ashby tried hard to work the ball forward, but the front Two for Rangers Ali Mohammed and Humer Hamalat were unable to settle on the ball long enough to relieve the pressure on the Rangers defence. MOM Luke Micklethwaite for his hard work and accurate passing.

Cleckheaton 1 v 2 Dewsbury Rangers (blue)

Rangers Started brightly with some sharp passing and movement from Alfie Watson and Jake Bird, Rangers threatened the Cleckheaton goal repeatedly, before Luke Ellis with close control and an accurate shoot opened the scoring for Rangers. Hard work and good movement from Nathan Lister created further opportunities for Rangers. Alfie Watson worked hard on his league debut keeping Rangers on the front foot, ably supported by Harry Bennett’s good passing.  Watson was rewarded for his hard work when he hit a low hard drive to put Rangers two up. Man of the match Ross Firth put in a fine defensive display. Against the run of play Cleckheaton scored a late consolation goal to spoil a solid performance from goal keeper Jacob Shires.

Cleckheaton 1v3 Dewsbury Rangers (yellow)

Rangers dominated from the first whistle, good passing from Umer Hamalat and Liam Fearnley meant Rangers attacked with ease. Ali Mohammed opened the scoring with a well taken shoot, a fine all round display and a further two accurately struck shoots earned Ali a well deserved first hatrick and MOM.

The second half saw changes to the Cleckheaton line up, some fine tackling from Luke Micklethwaite sticking firmly to his defensive duties thwarted Cleckheaton, Obrien and Ashby worked hard in midfield to retain possession for Rangers. Cleckheaton broke away twice to force fine saves from the brave Rangers keeper Bird. Cleckheaton scored a consolation goal with the last kick of the game.

 

Dewsbury Rangers (blue) 7 v 0 Park View Cleckheaton  (18/11/07)

Rangers dominated from start to finish an excellent all round team performance, Rangers passing and movement was the bedrock of this comprehensive victory typified by MOM Luke Ellis with five goals including two stunning free kicks, ably supported by Jake Bird with a fine strike following good one touch football involving all the Rangers out field players. Captain Ross Firth lead from the back with solid defending supported well by Harry Bennetts providing good link up play from back to front. Tom Ashby in goal kept his concentration and distributed the ball well through out the game. Nathan Lister came on in the second half providing continuity to the Rangers performance.

 

Dewsbury Rangers (Yellow) 1v5 Park View Cleckheaton (18/11/07)

Rangers lost to a largely unchanged Park View first team. Captain Jacob Shires tackled hard for Rangers, but a lack of support cost Rangers dear as they trailed 3 nil at half time. Liam Fearnley and Umar Hamalat worked tirelessly in midfield. Luke Micklethwaite came on at half time in an effort to stem the Park view tide. Persistence paid off for in the second half a crisp passing move down the Left saw Ali Mohamed find the net for a Rangers conciliation goal. MOM Jake Bird’s brave goal keeping saved Rangers from a heavier defeat.

Driglington 0 v 1 Dewsbury Rangers (blue) (04/11/07)

 Beat Driglington 1-0 with a fine finish from Luke Ellis. Rangers dominated possession with accurate passing from Jake Bird supported well with strong runs from Harry Bennetts and captain Ross Firth. Rangers proved too strong for Driglington, Bennetts went close with a swift move when Bird broke free on the left and sent him in on goal with an inch perfect pass. Ellis worked hard distributing the ball well. Tom Ashby in goal kept his concentration well to maintain a clean sheet. MOM Bennetts for his accurate passing and all round team performance. Nathan Lister came on in the second half and his pace and close control created more Rangers chances.

 Driglington 0 v 0 Dewsbury Rangers (yellow) (04/11/07)

Captain Jacob Shires organised his defence well limiting the opposition’s chances on goal. In midfield Umar Halalat and Liam Fearnley worked hard to keep the pressure on the Driglington defence. Harry Kitcher held the ball up well on his own up front. Clear cut chances were limited and Luke Micklethwaite saw a shoot deflect wide mid way through the first half. Jake Bird in goal distributed the ball well in the second half, his late long kick was latched onto by debutant Ali Mohammed who saw his low shot drift just wide of the opposition goal. Mohammed looked sharp through out the match and was the deserved recipient of MOM.     

 

Dewsbury Rangers (blue) 1 v 2 Shelf (a) (28/10/07)

 Rangers started brightly with penetrating runs from Luke Ellis with good support from Harry Bennetts. Jake Bird converted early pressure with a smart dribble and accurate shot beating the keeper low to his left. Shelf closed in despite last ditch tackling from Ross Firth, leading at half time two to one. Rangers started the second half pressurising the Shelf goal, but could not breach a well-marshalled defence, strong running from Nathan Lister late on could not force an equaliser. A brave display from goalkeeper Tom Ashby MOM kept hopes alive for rangers through out a hard fought match.

  

Dewsbury Rangers (yellow) 0 v 1 Shelf (b) (28/10/07)

 Rangers worked hard, with strong running and close control from Tom Ashby and Liam Fearnley in midfield. MOM Jacob Shires made a number of decisive tackles through out the match supported in defence by Luke Micklethwaite. Harry Kitcher worked hard alone up front latter replaced by Conner O’Brian. Jake Bird was worked hard in goal making frequent key saves, he was finally beaten with a low shelf drive. Ranger’s midfield took control of the game in the second half but could not force an equalising goal. 

 

 Dewsbury Rangers (blue) 6 v 5 Norristhorpe (14/07/07)

 In a tense start Norristhorpe opened the scoring. Rangers dug deep with good tackling from Ross Firth. Dewsbury’s alertness and one touch football paid off as Ellis and Bird combined for Jake Bird to beat two defenders and fire a low drive home. Harry Bennetts fired Rangers into the lead with an accurate drive. The game sprang into life as ranger’s keeper Tom Ashby made crucial saves.  Luke Ellis converted a penalty after Jake Bird was brought down driving into the Norristhorpe box. MOM Jake Bird for his commitment and his four goals in the match. 

 

Dewsbury Rangers (yellow) 1 v 1 Norristhorpe (14/10/07)

Rangers started brightly, with strong running and close control from Liam Fearnley in midfield and solid defending from Jacob Shires and Harry Kitcher. Nathan Lister worked hard up front and twice went close to opening the scoring. Norristhorpe broke forward and took the lead, Rangers then took control of the game, pressure mounted and with seconds on the clock a neatly worked move started down the left with Tom Ashby dribbling to the bi line and pulling the ball back for Nathan Lister (MOM) to equalise with the last kick of the match.

 

Dewsbury Rangers (blue) 8 v 3 Kirkheaton (30/07/07)

 Beat Kirkheaton 8-3 with a five-goal haul from Jake Bird. Rangers dominated with strong tackling from captain Ross Firth. Bird opened the scoring ably supported by Tom Ashby, who retired injured following a run from his own goal into the Kirkheaton penalty box. MOM Luke Ellis struck a looping free kick for Rangers second, good pressure from Rangers saw Bird strike a low shot to lead 3.0. Connor O’Brien made good stops in goal as Kirkheaton pulled one back. Good skill and close control from Nathan Lister saw him score after a fine Rangers move. Two late strikes from Bird sealed victory.

 Dewsbury Rangers (blue) 2v 0 Kirkheaton (30/07/07)

 Jacob Shires tackled hard for Rangers, shooting just over the Kirkheaton bar. Shoots from Harry Kitcher and Liam Fearnley went close for Rangers. In a tense second half good running from Luke Micklethwaite kept up the pressure. MOM Harry Bennets finally broke the deadlock with a low hard shot. Good dribbling from Nathan Lister produced a second, late on for Rangers.     

 

Dewsbury Rangers (blue) 3 v 2 Scissett  (23/09/07)

 Beat Scissett 3-2 in their first away match of the season. Strong early pressure resulted in a Rangers penalty converted by Luke Ellis, the first of his two goals for the match. Harry Kitcher worked tirelessly up front well supported from midfield by Jake Bird. Rangers started the second half two one down. Strong finishing from Ross Firth levelled matters and a brave display in goals from Tom Ashby set up an exciting finish with a late Ellis winner.

 Dewsbury Rangers (yellow) 1 v 3 Scissett

 A positive performance was not reflected in the final score. Strong running up front from Nathan Lister ably supported by Luke Micklethwaite and good Harry Bennetts passing. Solid tackling from both Jacob Shires and Liam fearnley kept Rangers in the chase, finally rewarded by a late Ross Firth strike.
