Dewsbury Rangers v Howden Clough (07/10/07)

Rangers finally got the season off and running with a battling 2-2 draw against Howden Clough. In a frantic local derby it was Clough who took the lead early on.Rangers had to thwart a number of attacks with solid defending from Parry and Walton, whilst Dehaney and MOM Houlker kept Cloughs attack at bay.The Rangers midfield were now starting to give good support to the forwards and when Clarks ball caused indecision in Cloughs defence Wilson provided the perfect pass for Hill to shoot across the keeper for the equaliser. The pace continued in the 2nd half and Keeper Adamson had to pull off a great double save in which he was injured.Rangers then went to sleep and Clough took the lead. With nothing to lose Rangers battered the Clough defence and when Gildeas accurate pass fell to Wilson he fired the equaliser on the half volley.Rangers then nearly won the game when Parish and Robinson combined to drive against the post for the scores to remain even.
