Wyke Wanderers v Dewsbury Rangers (14/10/07)

In a match turned on its head by a poor performance by the referee Rangers lost out 6-2 to the home side.

Wyke took the lead after good play when the ball came in from the right for the forward to slot it home. Ranger pulled level after fine work from Ash Cardus and captain Jack Allerton who put Ryan Laidlaw through to equalise. Ten minutes from the break the hosts went in front after some poor defending. Rangers pulled level again after a corner was turned in by centre half Oliver Heatley, 2-2 at half time.

The second half saw some enterprising play by both sides with Wyke deservedly regained the lead again after woeful defending left Brad Goodlad exposed .

The match was then turned on its head when Rangers Captain Jack Allerton was unceremoniously pulled down in the area and the referee waved play on. The home team went straight up field and after his second dubious decision in one minute awarded the home side a free kick from which they scored. The Rangers players realised at this point that no matter how hard they tried they were going to get nothing given their way, their heads dropped allowing Wyke to score two further goals to make the score line a flatering 6-2.

 Dewsbury Rangers v Silkstone. (07/10/07)

In a game played in glorious weather fortunes swung both ways for each side. Rangers started more strongly and scored after 4 minutes after a fine run and unselfish cross from their captain Jack Allerton to give Ryan Laidlaw a tap in for the first of his two. Silkstone got an equaliser from a long ball over the top for their player to run on to. The Home side stepped up the pressure and again after fine work from Allerton got a second through Sam Pickles to regain the lead. This was increased further when joint man of the match Hayden Campbell played Levon Zserdicky into score. Rangers defence lost its shape when Tom Hirst was taken off injured after an untidy clash with an opposition player, and this allowed the visitors to peg things back to 3 –3 at half time.

In the second half Rangers lost another key Defender when Patrick Phillips had to come off after being elbowed in the neck. This unsettled the home defence who let in another two goals despite fine keeping from joint man of the match Brad Goodlad. Rangers pulled one back when Laidlaw got his second, after again combining with Campbell and Allerton, but at the end it was the home keeper who was the busiest.

Shelf v Dewsbury Rangers (30/09/07)

In a league 2 game Rangers won 3-2  in a game that should have seen more goals. Dewsbury took the lead within two minutes of the start when Sam Pickles got the first of his two after a good run and shot. Rangers applied a lot of pressure but couldn’t convert this to goals.

In the second half Dewsbury increased their lead to three goals with a second for Pickles and then one from Levon Zserdicky. This spurred Shelf on to pull one back despite good defending from Oliver Heatley and man of the match Tom Hirst. Jack Allerton had numerous chances but failed to capitalise on them, with a minute to go Shelf got a second but it was too late for them to get anything out of the game.

Dewsbury Rangers v Barugh (23/09/07)

Rangers scraped home in a scrappy affair, despite creating loads of chances the home side struggled to a 5-4 victory. They took the lead through Kyle Cooper, but were pegged back. They went back in front when man of the match Ryan Laislaw got the first of his brace
At the start of the second half Rangers created enough chances to be 3 or 4 up but spurned them all. This gave Barugh confidence and from one missed chance they went up field and equalised. Central defender Oliver Heatley restored the home sides advantage slotting home at the third attempt from close range, but again the visitors equalised. Hayden Campbell again put the hosts in front, but the visitors not to be out done levelled again, and it looked like it was heading for a draw untill Ryan Laidlaw got his second  and the home defence got their act in gear to hang on for the victory.

Buttershaw Youths v Dewsbury Rangers (16/09/07)

In a first half hampered by high winds both teams struggled to play football and keep the ball on the ground. The home side shaded the first half and only good defending from Kyle Cooper, Tom Hirst, Alex McGee and Patrick Phillips kept them out. The home side were awarded a penalty, but justice was done when man of the match Brad Goodlad dived to his right and pushed the ball out, 0-0 at half time.

Rangers spent a lot of time on the back foot in the second half and a string of fine saves from Goodlad kept the score level, but pressure tells and Buttershaw took the lead with a well-worked goal. Rangers pushed for an equaliser but the hosts held firm for victory
