Rangers  B 3  Norristhorpe  B  3

Rangers found themselves playing against a very strong Norristhorpe side, but they started well competing well for the ball, and Callum Booth and Lewis Nicholson going close a couple of times. It was the visitors who took the lead, when they scored past Rangers impressive 'keeper Hayden Lister. This spurred Rangers on and they were rewarded when the hard working Sam Wilson scored to make the game all square. Rangers' defensive unit of  Joe Sorby, Tom Smith and Ross Wood worked overtime to keep out the 'Thorpe attacks. Rangers scored twice more through Liam Walker and Wilson before half time. The second half was a different story with Norristhorpe pressurising Rangers throughout making several chances, two of which they took to draw level. Rangers also had their chances to win it but were unable to do so. MoM went to Sam Wilson.

Rangers  A  2   Norristhorpe   1

Rangers started this match very strongly, putting pressure on the visitors goal from the start. Tynan Neagle went close volleying over the bar with a well struck effort. 'Kepper Jack Lodge was a virtual spectator in the first half, due to the efforts of defenders Thomas Thackry and Jay Hirst, who dealt with everything Noristhorpe threw at them. Rangers got their deserved breakthrough when Calum Cheshire swung a corner in Norristhorpes 'keeper was unable to deal with it and it ended up in the net. In the second half Norristhorpe looked a different team, searching for an equaliser.
Harry Finlay and Sam Artley worked hard in midfield to keep them out, with an injured Sam Bentley struggling with an injury up front. But it was Rangers who made the game safe, when Ewan Rodgers received the ball at the edge of their area, and he lobbed the defence and 'keeper to score. This didn't deterre the visitors who battled to score a goal, to set up a grandstand finale. MoM went to the whole team in what was a fantastic effort by all.

Rangers A  2    Batley A  2

In very windy conditions, Rangers chose to play against the elements and the slope in the first half. They must have shocked the home team with their work rate and determination. Every time they had the ball Rangers looked dangerous with Ewan Rodgers, Tynan Neagle and Callum Cheshire creating several chances for the hard working Sam Bentley. It was Bentley who opened the scoring bravely heading in from close range from a corner.
Rangers continued to press and increase their lead, but were unlucky to get caught on the break as Batley equalised just before half time. The second half continued as the first with Rangers controlling the game, with the defensive unit of Thomas Thackray, Jay hirst and 'keeper Jack Lodge dealing with everything. However it was Batley who took the lead when a piece of good skill led to their striker scoring a very good goal.
Rangers then turned on the pressure and creating several chances, the pick of which came from Rodgers, whose well struck shot from 20 yards was well saved. Rangers eventually drew level when Bentley used the wind to his advantage and directed a corner into the home teams net. In what was arguably Rangers best performance of the season, PoM wnt to Calum Cheshire.

Rangers B  1  Batley B 1

Again Ranges chose to play against the elements for the first half and the defensive work of Joe Sorby and Tom Smith ept the Batley attack at bay. Rangers created several chances of their own with Sam Wilson and Lewis Nicholson going close. Rangers must have been satisfied wth their first halves effort as it ended nil-nil.
With the wind at their backs Rangers caused problems for the home team from the off, with Sam Artley and callum Booth causing problems from midifield. It was from a good run from Artley tha Liam Walker opened the scoring, and it looked like their was more to come, with Alex Parsons looking dangerous in front of the nets.
But it was Batley that equalised when they scored an opportunist goal. Again rangers went in persuit of a winner but it wasn't forthcoming.

Rangers A 1  Battyeford A  5

Rangers started the match well, passing the ball and creating numerous chances, but it was Rangers inability to hit the target ultimately cost them the match. In the first half playing up hill, Calum Cheshire caused havoc down the right, and was well supported by the hard working Ewan Rodgers and Tynan Neagle. Rangers were unlucky to go one down just before half time when the home teams striker slotted home from close range past 'keeper Jack Lodge. In the second half it was a different story, Battyeford played some good football and created chances freely despite the efforts of defenders Thomas Thackray and Jay Hirst. During this spell 'Ford scored 4 more goals making the game safe. It was at his point Rangers regained their form allowing Sam Bentley to score. PoM went to Harry Finlay who never gave up trying.

Rangers B  4  Battyeford B 2

Rangers B were impressive throughout this match, they took the lead early when good teamwork led to Liam Walker scoring. Rangers continued to press and direct from a corner Sam Wilson scored. This seemed to kick the home team to life and they pulled one back despite the close attention of defenders Ross Wood and Tom Smith. In the second half the game remained close, but Rangers clinched it with goals from Ryan Zammuto and Alex Pearson. Battyeford pulled one back to ensure that Rangers could not take their feet off the pedal prior to the end.

Rangers A  5   Rastrick A  1

Rangers started the game confidently, passing the ball well, with Rangers defenders, Tom Thackray and Jay Hirst virtually spectators. Although their efforts went unrewarded as they struggled to hit the target. The visitors took the lead unexpectedly when their striker shot from just inside Rangers' half, 'keeper Jack Lodge seemed to have it covered when the ball bounced badly on the uneaven surface past him into the net. In the second half Rangers kept their shape and were rewarded when Sam Bentley scored shortly after the break. This was followed shortly later with his second. Rangers pushed home their advantage and further goals came from Ewan Rodgers, Tynan Neagle and Calum Cheshire. In what was an impressive team performance Bentley took the MoM honours.

Rangers B 10 – Rastrick B 1

Teamwork showed through from the very start of the match. An early free kick just outside Rastrick’s area allowed Sam Wilson to hit the back of the net. Rangers started this second round cup match well, putting pressure on the home side from the off. Sam Artley went close early on before CalumCheshire went on a great solo run to fire the ball into YMCA's net. Rangers continued to control trhe game, with Ewan Rodgers passing the ball well assisted by the hard working Tynan Neagle. This led to Cheshire taking the ball on the halfway, using his pace sped down the right wing befiore rifling the ball past the home 'keeper. At half time the weather changed totally with the wind and rain intheir faces Rangers struggled to get out of their own half. Defenders Thomas Thackray and Jay Hirst and 'keeper Jack Lodge, who had been largely untroubled in the first half, now had to work overtime. Five minutes before full time the home team pulled a goal back to set up a grand stand finish, but it was Rangers who progressed to the next round of the cup. Here they will join the B team, who had a bye in this round.

Dewsbury Rangers A  1    Yorkshire Lions A 0

Rangers were slow out of the blocks in this cup match and were put under pressure from a determined Lions team, who were unlucky not to score. Only the good goalkeeping from Jack Lodge and the strong defence of Thomas Thackray and the in form Jay Hirst. Rangers midfield lacked their usual spark and striker Sam Artley didn't have much to do. The match ended goaless and the sides went into extra time, Rangers looked a totally different side, Ewan Rodgers stepped up his game and began to distribute the ball with accuracy. It was from one of these passes that Harry Finlay broke down the right wing, beat the defence and put in a pinpoint cross which was headed in by Tynan Neagle. Rangers continued to dominate extra time andv were denied a carbon copy goal just before half time. Rangers held out for the win and MoM went to Jay Hirst.

Dwesbury Rangers B  3   Norristhorpe B  1

The match started off pretty evenly against Norristhorpe B team. Joe Sorby had been moved up to midfield from his usual position of defence. Attacks were made in the first half by Alex Parsons, Sam Wilson & Callum Booth but to no avail.
During a short lapse from defence Norristhorpe broke through scoring the first goal. Shortly after, Sorby came up trumps from his new position and scored an equaliser just before half time.
In the second half Goalkeeper Hayden Lister had little to do due to the defence of Ross Wood and Tom Smith keeping Norristhorpe at bay. A free kick from Sam Wilson bounced off  their keeper only to be hammered back in by Liam Walker. Strong attacking from Callum Booth & Ryan Zammuto helped deliver another goal by Liam Walker. Man of the Match went to Joe Sorby.

Rangers A  3   Howden Clough  3 (28/10/07)

Rangers started this game well, attacking Clough right from the kick off and were rewarded when Tynan Neagle nipped in to score. Within 5 minutes Rangers added another when Sam Bentley shot from the edge of the area after good work from Calum Cheshire. Rangers then sat back and allowed the visitors into the game, and Clough were level at half time. Rangers defence of Jay hirst and Thomas Thackray were on top form but were helpless to prevent Clough taking the lead scoring past impressive 'keeper Harry Finlay. MoM was midfielder Ewan Rodgers who was the architect of Rangers best efforts and worked tirelessly tackling everything that came his way.

Rangers B 2  Howden Clough  2 (28/10/07)

This game was as close as it looks, with both teams having periods in which they dominated this game. Rangers midfield of Sam Wilson and Liam Walker were at the heart of most of the home teams best work, which eventually led to Alex Parsons opening the scoring. The defence of Tom Smith, Joe Sorby and 'keeper Hayden were then pushed to their limits and were unable to stop Clough drawing level and then subsequently taking the lead. Rangers then hit back and turned the pressure on the visitors and were soon equal when Lewis Nicholson latched onto a good cross. Rangers continued to press but were unlucky not to pinch a winner. MoM went to the hard working Sam Wilson.

Rangers A's 3  Cleckheaton  2 (14/10/07)

Rangers were soon behind in this match, after lucky not to concede a penalty in the opening minutes, poor defence allowed the home team to open the scoring. This appeared to wake up Rangers, who played some attractive football at times. Sam Bentley was unlucky not to bring the match level, hitting the woodwork on several occassions. Rangers did pull level when some smart football in midfield saw livewire Calum Cheshire latch onto a neat final pass to put the ball in the back of the net. A similar move a short time later ended with the same result as Cheshire slammed home from the edge of the box. Rangers started the second half as they did the first and soon found themselves level, after some lacklustre team defending. Rangers defence of Jay Hirst and Tynan Neagle and 'keeper jack Lodge stood strong as the home team pushed for a win. As the game appeared to be heading for a draw, Sam Artley took the ball from halfway took on the defence and slotted the ball into the net. MoM was Neagle who defended well and looked dangerous on the break.

Rangers B  0  Cleckheaton  4 (14/10/07)

Rangers lost their 100% record to bottom club Cleckheaton.  Despite the hard work from the defence of Joe Sorby, Ross Wood, Tom Smith and 'keeper Hayden Lister Rangers could not stop the onslought from the home team, who were relentless in their persuit of a win. Midfielders Lewis Nicholson and Liam Walker worked effortlessly throughout the match creating chances, but no matter how hard the taem worked Ryan Zammuto and Alex Parsons could not penetrate the solid defence of the home team.

Rangers A's  2  Battyeford  0 (07/10/07)

Rangers continued with their good form, with a deserved win over near rivals Battyeford. Central midfielder Ewan Rodgers won everything that came his way, with both his head and feet. This was the corner stone the side needed to pressure the visitors at every opportunity. Fellow midfielders Calum Cheshire and Harry Finlay worked well pushing forward and creating several chances for Striker Sam Artley. The deadline was broken when Artley took a shot and it was deflected by 'Fords impressive keeper. The second half continued with Rangers pressing, defenders Thomas Thackray and Jay Hirst put up a solid line of defence, which meant that 'keeper Jack Lodge wasn't over tested.
